The fox in this painting is real. It wanders through our neighborhood and, for reasons only it could know, returned again and again to visit a neighbor undergoing cancer treatment. The blue tones are symbolic rather than literal, expressing peace, compassion, and the mystery of the bond that can exist between people and the natural world. Sometimes healing begins with nothing more than knowing we are not alone.
