Capturing the Spirit of Nature
Welcome to my gallery.
Painting has become my way of celebrating the places and wildlife that have shaped my life. From the forests, lakes, and granite landscapes of Ontario’s Haliburton Highlands to the coastal beauty and remarkable wildlife of Florida, I strive to capture more than what I see—I want to share what I feel.
Working primarily in oils, my paintings combine observation with expressive brushwork and colour. Whether I’m standing beside a rushing waterfall, painting outdoors on a quiet shoreline, or creating a portrait of a wolf, fox, or Florida panther, my goal is always the same: to create a connection between the viewer and the subject.
Some of my paintings begin outdoors as plein air studies before being developed in the studio. This process allows me to preserve the immediacy and freshness of the original experience while creating works with greater depth and emotion.
My artistic journey has been enriched by studying with exceptional artists, including Gordon Harrison, Ian Roberts, Harvey Walker, and most recently through two years of mentorship with John David Anderson. Each has encouraged me to look beyond simply painting a scene and instead communicate its spirit.
Today my work can be found in private collections in both Canada and the United States. During the summer, I paint from my studio on Kennisis Lake in Ontario, and during the winter, from my Florida studio.
I hope my paintings encourage you to pause for a moment, experience the beauty of nature, and perhaps remember a place that has touched your own life.
